Seroflocculating Steroids. X. the Screening Method.

چکیده
I N A PREVIOUS REPORT (1), a postulate based on chemical concepts was described which forms the basis of a study of certain steroids possessing seroflocculating properties. The primary objective of the research is the uncovering of a reagent to assist in the diagnosis of disease, perhaps for types of cancer. Secondarily, if that goal is not reached, a reagent suitable for use in a health clearance test might eventuate. The search for active flocculants has been facilitated through use of a fast, reliable screening test in which a new compound is compared with a standard seroflocculant of known structure on selected cancer and normal sera. The chemical synthesis of compounds has been reported in earlier reports (1-7), and in each screening results have been summarized. This communication consists primarily of a description of the screening method. The degree of reliability of the method was examined by rescreening 20 compounds, and these results are also presented.

The Effect of Two Different Extraction Methods for Antioxidant Activity on Petroleum Ether Extract of Leaves of Plant Casearia Tomentosa
3 Department of Chemistry, Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, Uttarakhand, (India) ABSTRACT In the present study the effect of maceration and soxhlet extraction from plant leaves of Casearia tomentosa were compared for phytochemical screening and antioxidant activity using petroleum ether as solvent. The phytochemical screening was evaluated using standard protocols and the antioxidant ...
متن کاملBiosynthesis of copper oxide nanoparticles using leaves extract of Leucaena leucocephala L. and their promising upshot against diverse pathogens
This contribution reports an ecological benevolent route for the fabrication of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs) using Leucaena leucocephala L. leaves extracts at room temperature. Phytochemical screening of the fresh aqueous leaves extract showed the presence of tannins, saponins, coumarins, flavonoids, cardial glycosides, steroids, phenols, carbohydrates and amino acids. Copper oxide parti...
متن کاملScreening for anabolic steroids in urine of forensic cases using fully automated solid phase extraction and LC-MS-MS.
A screening method for 18 frequently measured exogenous anabolic steroids and the testosterone/epitestosterone (T/E) ratio in forensic cases has been developed and validated. The method involves a fully automated sample preparation including enzyme treatment, addition of internal standards and solid phase extraction followed by analysis by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS-M...

One of the major problems in all kinds of sports, specially bodybuilding and powerlifting, is anabolic steroids abuse. Common and sometimes life-threatening complications of these drugs have always been important among athletes. The use of these drugs was common among athletes in 1950s, and since then, there has been some reports from all over the world about their complications. Li...
متن کاملReactive Arrays of Colorimetric Sensors for Metabolite and Steroid Identification
The work described herein examines a rapid mix-and-measure method called DETECHIP suitable for screening of steroids and metabolites. The addition of steroids and metabolites to reactive arrays of colorimetric sensors generated characteristic color "fingerprints" that were used to identify the analyte. A color analysis tool was used to identify the analyte pool that now includes biologically re...
